Getting to Know Us: the MendoFutures Operations Team
Ann Cole is the Program Director for
a program of North Coast Opportunities. In this position she designs, convenes and administers a county-wide ten-month leadership development program through which participants learn leadership skills and immerse themselves in issues of importance across Mendocino County. In addition to program administration and fundraising, this position includes curriculum development and working with numerous dignitaries and stakeholders who engage with class participants on community issues. Ann moved to Mendocino County in 2007 after a career in law practice, land conservation real estate and nonprofit leadership in the San Francisco Bay Area, including ten years with the Trust for Public Land, a national land conservation organization, and two years with Slide Ranch, a teaching farm for children. Locally she has provided professional services to The Conservation Fund, FIRST 5 Mendocino and the Mendocino County Resource Conservation District.
Since moving to Mendocino County, Ann served a three year term as an elected member of the Board of Directors of Mendocino County Public Broadcasting and continues to volunteer at pledge drive and other community events. She maintains an interest in land conservation issues, sustainable agriculture, sustainable forestry and food localization. She served as one of several facilitators for a recent food localization summit, and at home is an avid vegetable gardener.
Ann is a part of the MendoFutures Operational Management Team, and received the MendoFuture's
"Facilitation for Chaotic Times"
training. Ann is interested in working with others who want to invest in making their community a better place to live.
